Marc Stigter

Istvan Gorgenyi -  Associate

Dr. Istvan Gorgenyi began his sporting career as a water polo player for his native Hungary, winning a Silver medal at the 1972 Munich Olympics and the World Championship title in 1973.  Istvan went on to coach Hungarian and French men's club teams to Championship titles before winning a Gold medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics with the Australian women's water polo team.

Istvan is a professional coach and group therapist with a unique understanding of getting the best performance out of teams. His theory on group dynamics and performance, ‘The Hunting Territory’ is the culmination of a life’s work building peak performing teams.  He has successfully implemented the coaching and management applications of his theory across corporate and sporting environments.  Istvan is a published author and highly experienced workshop presenter focusing on the practical side of achieving optimal team performance.  

In addition to his sporting achievements, Istvan worked for 12 years in psychiatric clinics as a social worker, group and family therapist in Hungary.  He earned a doctorate from Eotvos Lorand University, Faculty of Law and Political Science, Budapest, Hungary.
