Taiseng Tan

Taiseng Tan -  Associate

Prior to joining the Critical Management Group, Taiseng spent six years in China leading and implementing key JV projects for the Global Lubricants division of Shell. Prior to Shell's acquisition of Pennzoil Quaker-State (PQS) in 2002, Taiseng was the Regional Vice-President responsible for 15 PQS operations within Asia Pacific. He successfully restructured and turned around their two largest subsidiaries in the region, PQS Australia and PQS India.

Taiseng has extensive general management experience in Asia Pacific having worked for leading multinationals such as Colgate-Palmolive, Gillette, Citicorp, Clorox, Pennzoil Quaker-State and Shell. During his distinguished career with those multinationals, Taiseng lived and worked in Shanghai, Beijing, Seoul, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, Melbourne and Manila.

Given his extensive expat experience, Taiseng has developed an essential understanding and sensitivity to the different cultures of the Asia Pacific region; fundamental to effective business dealings and establishing relationships within the different markets. He also developed invaluable insights into business strategy, problem-solving, decision making, negotiations, project management and people development across a broad spectrum of cultures and organizations.

From 1994 to 1999, Taiseng, as President of Clorox Korea, was twice awarded by the Korean government for excellent export performance.

Taiseng holds a Master of Science (Business Studies) from the London Business School and a Bachelor of Science (Psychology and Statistics), from the Australian National University in Canberra.
